Movement Medicine Online Events

Autumn Equinox Ceremony

Saturday 18th of September
19:00 - 22:00 GMT + 1 (BST)

Led by Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan with Special Guests, Lua Maria, Juanvi & DJ Reuben DK

The Tribal Heart Movement Medicine Equinox Ceremony is the next in our online ceremonial offerings to mark the turning of the year and changing seasons. The equinox is a time to reflect on balance, not one that is rigid and unmoving but one that is dynamic, ever-changing and full of life.

The light of the day and the dark of the night do not work in opposition to one another. Rather, one fluidly becomes the other and it is in those liminal spaces of twilight and dawn when the gates open to what has not yet been imagined. We live in a time in our human evolution when it seems that polarities are often pitched against one another in conflict rather than seeing themselves as inclusive aspects of a bigger truth.

The intention for this ceremony is to support us all to be who we are and to embody what is true. We will work with the dynamic balance of yin and yang and the third space that arises when they dance together – in our work, we call this Phoenix Medicine. The Phoenix represents the cycle of life, death and rebirth that is essential for us to grow as individuals and as a species. What needs to die and return to ash? What is just coming into form? What is alive in you and wanting the space to let go and be danced?

The ceremony is a celebration of life, and a deep opportunity to heal, resource yourself and embody your prayers for yourself, others, and the community of life itself. It’s a time to remember our ancestors and reach out towards our collective descendants to experience the evolution of life across the great arc of time. Our intention is to find refuge in the felt presence of the Great Spirit through the body and heart. This is not only deeply nourishing, but it strengthens our capacity to be of service in the world.

SPECIAL GUESTS | Lua Maria is a multilingual singer and songwriter. Her songs come from a place of silence and listening to the Earth. Through sound, she invites us to take a journey within ourselves to reconnect with our essence. Juanvi is a musician, songwriter, artisan woodworker and Native American flute maker.

Together they spent the past 6 years living off grid in Spain, bringing up their daughter, growing medicinal plants and vegetables and offering concerts and sound journeys.Weaving songs and soundscapes of flute, didgeridoo, drum and voice, they share music as an offering of gratitude back to life.

CONNECTION | For those who wish, you can have the interactive experience through the zoom link. There will also be an integration session with break-out groups afterwards. For those who wish to be more private, tune into the stream, link top to some good speakers and let's do this and lift up an embodied prayer that echoes through the roots, trunk and branches of the Tree of Life.
